Do the signs really point to Biden?

 Thursday, October 8, 2020

There's an old political saying that says signs don't vote.
This means that just because a person puts a political sign on his or her loan it doesn't mean that person's voting for the candidate of your choice
The problem is this year as in the 2016 election there are almost no political signs on anybody's lawns.
Here in the heart of democratic country this is surprising since the only sign I have seen this year was for buying them on the same house that I saw the Hillary Clinton sign four years ago.
I also noted a whole lawn of Biden signs on a house in Weehawken, but this only a variation on the anti-Trump tribute that house has played for four years.
I'm sure there are other signs everywhere that I can't see but I drive out Beyond these boundaries of democratic Ville I found a remarkable absence of political signs only weeks out of the election
Is lack of enthusiasm suggest that the polls may not be completely accurate in reflecting the public opinion this year than they were in 2016.
One media pollster tells us that even though things look the same now as they did in 2016, Trump is in deep peril because he now has a track record to run on and for opponents to run against.
But there was a little bit more enthusiasm in those areas I drove yesterday where I would have expected from signs those highways in the remote and less populated parts of the state.
We've, of course, had to suffer through the vice presidential campaign yesterday which media played to the hilt both sides claiming Victory when there really wasn't a victory to be had.
It's hard to tell with the internal polls are actually saying about each campaign but media has gone full tilt in it negative against Trump, suggesting they have less confidence in Biden winning than they let on.
This may be just wishful thinking because the Democrats have been so appalling over the last four years, I cringe to think they might be rewarded for their viciousness.
Maybe that's the real problem. People may not like Trump but they despise the Democrats
Even in the heart of Democratic territory we hear this kind of buzz about how despicable Democrats have been even from people that should be voting that way.
The Democrats even to be relied on covid-19 as their campaign, scaring people into believing that Trump has been irresponsible.
It is a drum beat that is so relentless that it is like the drumbeat of the Civil War watching both sides try to outdo each other.
The question here will be a lot of keys states where everybody claims that the numbers don't really reflect what's really going on.
As in 2016, the lack of political signs showed me just how dissatisfied people are with their choices -- black people being forced to vote for a white old man who had helped put many of their kin into jail with his vicious laws and his vice president candidate who was a prosecutor who did the same thing.
Biden is notorious for his racist remarks in the past and yet it is Trump that is being accused of being racist.
This is ironic to say the least, but it shows just how much you can manipulate reality when you have media telling people this lie over and over again.
I have no faith in this political signs or in the questionable science that tells me that Biden is leading by a huge amount although this is undoubtedly one of those moments in history when you cannot read the tea leaves from any external sign.
What will happen in November will happen and we will have to live with the consequences.
